Towards a European Cancer Plan

Towards a European Cancer Plan

Cancer Planning and control is a complex and heterogenous picture across Europe.
As part of public policy research agenda to examine the feasibility of a European Cancer Plan (ECP) the Institute is involved in a number of foundational programs including BENCHCAN (benchmarking comprehensive cancer care), the European Cancer Patient’s Bill of Rights and EXO-r-NET, a two year analysis of transEU care in childhood cancers. 2014 has seen the start of a formal collaboration between the ICP and the NCI Centre for Global Health on global cancer, focusing on Eurasia and Central and Eastern Europe. EurAsian engagement programs for 2014 include Georgia. In 2015 we will expand analysis of the political economy of cancer in Europe focusing on ‘new’ Europe and also the state public policy in cancer research
